Over one million Canadian parents have taken Respect in Sport training. The program is mandatory in hockey, soccer, baseball and other sports. Why? One of the most common reasons kids, coaches and managers cite for leaving sport is unacceptable parent behaviour. Competitive curling is not immune to parenting pitfalls. Junior Slam Series initiated this opportunity to introduce Respect in Sport to our parent group. Parents attending this 20-minute ROCKTalk will be eligible to participate in the certified on-line Respect in Sport parenting course. Course fees will be covered by Junior Slam Series, ONLY for parents who have attended our Respect in Sport ROCKTalk.

Mark Allen, Ontario Director, Respect in Sport

Mark Allen will be delivering our Respect in Sport ROCKTalk. Mark served with the Ontario Provincial Police for nearly 35 years, retiring as Inspector responsible for Crime Prevention. In retirement, Mark has worked extensively in abuse awareness and prevention. He is currently the Ontario Director for Respect Group Inc., co-founded by Sheldon Kennedy, a former NHL player who was sexually abused by his junior hockey coach. We are pleased to welcome Mark Allen to our ROCKTalk podium this season.

This ROCKTalk is free for ALL parents with an athlete registered in ANY Junior Slam in the 2018-19 season.
