ROCKTalk Rundown....

We wish to thank Nicole Westlund Stewart and Stephanie Thompson for a phenomonal ROCKTalk on Friday night at the Phoenix Slam. With over 140 U18 curlers and coaches in attendance, Nicole and Steph delivered practical tips on how to beat nerves and stay strong.  Some of Nicole's tips included diaphragmatic breathing, interrupting negative thoughts with a key word, practising positive affirmation and self talk. Steph's presentation energized our crowd by bringing up audience members to demonstrate the importance of the wellness trifecta: an intricate puzzle of sleep, nutrition, and tissue work that athletes must maintain.

and finally, Thanks!  We couldn't have done it without you....

Junior Slam Series wishes to thank our sponsor Curl Coach who custom made Live Scores for the Slam Series. We had thousands of hits on Live Scores this weekend. This real time scoring system has so many features that made viewing off site nearly as satisfying as being there live. Thank you to our excellent staff for your hard work uploading scores for 80 games at this event.

We also wish to thank Joe Corrado of sportandwellness.ca Biosteel, Kangen Water for donating and sampling your products this weekend.  Athletes can purchase Biosteel directly from our sponsor at a 10% discount. Joe, your support continues to make the Slam a huge success. We extend our thanks as well to the Kitchener Waterloo Granite Club, Jim,Jeff, bar and pro shop staff. Thanks also to Runback.
