The Junior Curling Tour of Ontario
Introducing the Junior Curling Tour for Ontario junior curlers. The JCTO’s mission is to provide meaningful development for Ontario curlers in the U15, U18 & U20 age categories.
To achieve this goal, the JCTO works with event organizers to help ensure that events are scheduled to avoid conflicts, and provide a meaningful development opportunity appropriate to the age category of the teams.
The JCTO leverages the Junior Slam Series and its website to provide an event calendar, team registration, and event registration as well as event management tools in the form of the LiveScores platform and Junior Team Ranking System leaderboards. All tour events earn points on the Ontario leaderboard, and a combination of event championship titles and overall position on the leaderboard earns invitations to the tour Players Championship for Ontario. All regular Ontario Junior Slam Series and independent events in Ontario earn points towards the JCTO Ontario leaderboard.
The JCTO will also manage a set of social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram & Twitter) to promote the tour and its events.
Players Championship
JCTO Tour event winners from each event as well as the top points earning teams from the season are invited to the Tour Players Championship event in the corresponding age category. This event will be held late in the season. Teams must participate in a minimum of 3 tour events to be eligible for invitation to the Players Championship.
Role of Tour Administrator
The Tour Administrator represents and coordinates with the events on the tour, including the Junior Slam Series events. They will be responsible for the overall schedule, managing access to LiveScores, requests for changes / features / custom draws and mediating any disputes between events.
A Message from the Tour Admin
Hello,
My name is Carmelinda, the tour administrator for the Junior Curling Tour of Ontario (JCTO). I bring 15+ years of experience in junior curling including roles as youth convener, coach, junior development co-ordinator for the Hamilton area, team manager, Chair on two CurlON U18 Provincial Championships and recently as board member of the former Ontario Junior Curling Tour (OJCT). I am also the proud mom of two junior curlers and a club curler from the Hamilton Victoria Curling Club in Hamilton.
I am really excited to be administrator of the tour. I’m also excited about working with each of the independent event convenors and the Junior Slam Series to deliver a truly great experience for the junior curlers of Ontario.
I’ve met many terrific people along the way that got me to where I am today. As your Tour Administrator, I will do my very best to make sure Ontario junior curlers are given the development opportunities to reach their goals and aspirations.
