This is our second U18 event of Season 7. Kitchener’s KW Granite Curling Club plays host to the Sapphire this year. The U18 Sapphire has room for 12 Women’s and 12 Men’s teams and is a great event for teams just returning to the ice looking for plenty of competition time, ice time, team and development time. Teams looking for a weekend together to gain experience and compete against a solid field of teams from Northern & Southern Ontario, consider the Sapphire one of your top early season events.
This early season event is all about getting games and returning to the ice. This year’s format is modified to give each team 5 round robin games against teams in balanced pools. After the round Robin completes, Sunday’s final game will be a cross over game against the team with the respective position in the opposite pool. 1st against 1st, 2nd against 2nd, etc
