Junior Slam Season Schedule
Our Season 9 schedule from Sep – Dec 2024 is now available. We look forward again to another vibrant season in Ontario and will finalize several more events in early 2025. We will keep you posted as those details firm up.
We are super excited to expand our event schedule this season adding new events in U15, U18 and Mixed Doubles categories with many new host clubs.
Registration for all events opens June 1, 2024 at 12:00pm EST. Check back often for updates as we grow
U15 Slams for the newest teams
At the U15 slams, we know the athletes want to play.. and play against their peers! The U15 format could be the biggest group in the province and our events will guarantee each team four games with enhanced coach interactions throughout the game so they can learn while they play. As well as giving the athletes a great format to play and learn, we have standardized the process for pre-game practice, LSD for hammer, coach interactions and provide Saturday lunch for all teams at each event.
U18 Slams
U18 Slams are our most developed events and are growing back in numbers post Covid. It’s our sweet spot and we do it well. The events see deep fields of competition and garner the participation of teams from across Canada as well as drawing International teams. Teams are guaranteed four games, pools are balanced and our draws are well timed to maximize the athlete experience over the weekend. We use Curling Canada’s enhanced coaching interactions at each event. Our slams comply with CurlON’s Trillium Team Ranking System for Points (TTRS)
U20 Slams
What can we say about our U20 events? They are fantastic and growing back to pre-covid numbers. As we head into season 9 we look forward to getting back to garnering bigger events with deeper fields. Our slams comply fully with CurlON’s Trillium Team Ranking System for Points (TTRS).
Mixed Slams
We ran a U20 open Mixed Slam in season 8 with tremendous success so we decided to add it back for season 9. Mixed is and always has been about fun. Our mixed event runs near season’s end and we treat it like a Provincial Championship with tremendous competition, great camaraderie and a banner for the winning team to boot. Join us in 2025 for our next great Mixed event.
Mixed Doubles Slams
Our mixed doubles slams are a little different from our regular events. Events are spread out through the season’s calendar and teams are awarded Mixed Doubles Team Ranking System points complete with a leaderboard as the season progresses. The top 8 teams ranked by MDTRS points compete in a season ending Championship event. In past year’s our season ending Championship resulted in 2 teams participating in the international NJCT Mixed Doubles Championship in Sweden. Sadly with the new WCF U21 World Championships launching in spring of 2025 that NJCT Championship has ended. We are working diligently on a new international exchange arrangement for spring of 2025 to keep the experience alive. Stay tuned for more information.
