The Athena Slam is back — and it’s bigger, bolder, and more empowering than ever as we launch the 10th anniversary season of the Junior Slam Series! This year, the Athena shines from a new home: the Dundas Granite Curling Club, a venue known for its vibrant curling community and championship-calibre ice. If you’re looking to start your season with purpose, this is your chance to step into the spotlight.
Now running as a standalone U18 women’s event, the Athena Slam is tailored for competitive teams eager to get back on the ice, build momentum, and test themselves against strong fields from across Ontario and the U.S. Last season, overwhelming demand pushed this event to its capacity — and this year promises even more talent, more fire, and more meaningful competition.
With room for up to 16 U18 women’s teams, the Athena is the perfect launchpad for teams focused on development, chemistry, and early-season experience. Fields of 8 or more teams will feature a 4-game round robin and a Championship Round on Sunday. Returning for this year: every U18 Slam will feature Championship and Consolation Finals, giving teams something to fight for from start to finish.
Expect the full JSS experience: 7-minute pre-game practice, 2 – LSDs for hammer, full coach interaction, and full compliance with Curling Ontario’s TTRS Points system.
New venue. Same elite energy. Your season starts here. The Athena Slam at Dundas Granite is your chance to ignite the year with competition, confidence, and connection. Be there. Be bold.
