The NJCT Mixed Doubles Championship Qualification is back. Who wants to join us in Sweden April 2022?
In April 2019, the Nordic Junior Curling Tour (NJCT) hosted the first ever NJCT U21 Mixed Doubles Championships. It included 12 teams from 6 countries curling at the Sundbyberg Curling Center (home club of Anna Hasselborg) for the “Spirit of Curling” trophy. Two of those twelve teams came from Canada and qualified through the Junior Slam Series qualification events.
Unfortunately the global pandemic ended last year’s season early. This year the Junior Slam Series is once again scheduling a series of qualification events for the right to represent the Junior Slam Series in Sweden curling against an amazing field of international teams. Qualifying teams will travel to Stockholm, Sweden, funded by the Junior Slam Series, and get a chance to add their names to the championship trophy.
Ontario will be sending one team to this Championship. One event has already been held and this will be the final Pre-Qualification event. will be held at Dundas Valley Golf & Country Club in Dundas, Ontario April 2-3, 2021 and will be open to 8 U21 Mixed Doubles teams only. The top 4 teams from this event will advance to the NJCT Qualification event the following weekend April 9-10, 2022 at Dundas Valley.
