We are thrilled to be returning to Kitchener’s KW Granite Curling Club for the 4th edition of the U21+ Royal Slam. It was here where the Junior Slam Series first started in 2016 and we are proud of our relationship with this terrific club and its tremendous staff. KW Granite is a first class facility with 6 sheets of championship ice and a wonderful environment.
The Royal is always a great early event to get lots of ice time, team time, and learning time. For many teams this is their first competition of the season. This year’s Royal is a 24 team event consisting of 12 Women’s and 12 Men’s teams, with a guarantee of 5 games over the weekend. Traditionally this event garners a strong field of U21 teams from across the province and internationally.
Running in parallel to the Royal Slam weekend at KW Granite will be an exciting new U18 Mixed Doubles Pre-qualifier event which will feature 12 U18 Mixed Doubles teams in the first qualification opportunity for the Junior Slam Series / Nordic Junior Curling Tour exchange to Stockholm, Sweden in April of 2020.
