U15 Tour
We are pleased to announce an exciting new addition to our series in 2024/25. Introducing the U15 Junior Slam Series Tour. The U15 Tour is designed in support young teams as they grow and develop in competitive play. A series of six U15 events spread throughout the curling calendar with the principal goal of providing terrific learning, networking and development opportunities through competition and play.
The U15 Tour events will see young teams compete and engage in a fun, structured, and supportive learning environment. Events will leverage enhanced coaching interactions to maximize the in-game, real-time learning moments. We will be again providing Saturday lunch for athletes and coaches and new for this season we will be incorporating some off-ice activities and learning moments for teams to enhance the engagement and fun at our events.
In support of the U15 Tour we have established a U15 Tour Ranking System (U15TRS). The new ranking system has been designed to allow teams to earn points based on their event performance. The points grid increases based on field size. The larger the field the more points are rewarded.
Qualification for the U15 Players Championship
Last year saw our first ever U15 Players Championship. A season-end event designed to replicate the feel of a Provincial Championship, complete with a team banner for the winners. Teams also were able to partake in photo opportunities both on and off the ice. The first year was an open entry event. It was a lot of fun and we hope to build on that terrific start.
For this season we plan on leveraging the U15TRS points system. The top teams earning the most U15TRS points will automatically be invited to participate in the U15 Players Championship in April 2025. Our leaderboard will identify the weekly standings after each event concludes. The table below will be used as the basis for points calculation.
